What does the competitor analysis compare?
The home pages of both sites are read like a visitor would read them and scored under the same seven headings with the same criteria. A criterion that cannot be measured (for example alt texts on a page with no images) is left out of the score.
| Category | What is checked | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Technical health | HTTPS and HTTP redirect, load speed, compression, error page (404), mobile friendliness, openness to search engines, up-to-date foundation | These are the basic conditions for security, visitor experience and for the site to be able to appear on Google. |
| Software and infrastructure | Security headers, page weight and number of files, scripts that delay loading, third-party resources, HTML structure, software versions | Shows whether the site stands on a fast, secure and easy-to-maintain software base; it also reveals the need for custom software and maintenance. |
| Design and user experience | Menu and navigation, clear calls to action (CTA), image optimisation and dimensions, accessibility basics, zoom allowed | Affects what a visitor feels in the first seconds and whether they know what to do next; it is the most visible sign of whether a redesign is due. |
| Search visibility | Page title, meta description, main heading, canonical URL, sitemap, structured data, sharing tags | Needed so that search engines and AI systems understand your page correctly and display it properly in results. |
| AI visibility (GEO) | Openness to AI crawlers, organisation identity data, question-and-answer content, sub-heading structure, llms.txt | Needed so that answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI summaries can read, understand and quote your site. |
| Content | Text depth, image alt texts, page language | Provides enough accessible content to explain your business to visitors and search systems alike. |
| Lead capture | Tappable phone and WhatsApp links, contact or quote form, trust signals (about, privacy, social media, references, address) | The easier it is for a visitor to reach you, the more likely a visit is to turn into an enquiry. |

What does this comparison not show?
This comparison is a quick pre-assessment that looks at the public home page of two sites. To be honest, it does not cover some things:
- Rankings, traffic and advertising: we do not know your competitor’s position on Google, their visitor numbers or their advertising spend.
- A score is not a ranking: a site with a higher score does not always rank higher; rankings depend on competition, content and many external factors.
- The whole site: only the home pages are read; inner pages, products or content quality are not assessed.
- Real user speed: the response time is measured from our server; it does not replace a detailed speed test.
- Content loaded later: if the page text arrives via JavaScript, the content may look thin.
For a deeper review, request a quote together with your result and we will assess both sites with you. The first conversation is free and the quote is not binding.
What should you do based on your result?
After the comparison, look at the page closest to your situation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Free Competitor Analysis
Is the competitor analysis free, and what is it for?
Yes, it is free and needs no sign-up. It reads the home page of your site and of a competitor on the spot, scores both with the same 39 criteria and shows them side by side: technical health, software and infrastructure, design and user experience, search visibility, AI visibility, content and contact paths. The result shows two scores, a category comparison, the criteria in which your competitor is ahead and those in which you are ahead, recommended services and a route. The aim is to show quickly where the gap to your competitor opens up.
Is it a problem to examine a competitor’s site like this?
The analysis only reads the public home page, like an ordinary visitor; it looks at nothing behind a login or hidden. The competitor’s content is not copied or stored; only the measurement results are cached briefly. An ordinary visit under the tool’s name may appear in the competitor site’s access logs.
Which criteria are compared?
Technical: HTTPS and redirects, response time, mobile friendliness, compression, error page, openness to search engines. Software and infrastructure: security headers, page weight, scripts that delay loading, third-party resources, software versions. Design and user experience: menu, clear calls to action, image optimisation, accessibility basics. Search visibility: title, description, H1, canonical, sitemap, structured data, sharing tags. AI visibility: openness to AI crawlers, organisation identity data, question-and-answer structure, llms.txt. Content and contact path: text depth, alt texts, contact links, form, trust signals.
Does the comparison show my competitor’s rankings, traffic or ad spend?
No. The comparison only looks at visible criteria on the public home pages of the two sites. We do not know Google rankings, visitor numbers, backlinks or advertising spend; those need separate data sources.
Does a site with a higher score rank higher on Google?
Not always. The score is calculated only from this tool’s own criteria; it is not a ranking, traffic or sales guarantee. Closing gaps improves findability and user experience, but rankings depend on competition, content quality and many external factors.
What happens if my competitor’s site cannot be analysed?
Some sites block automated checks or are temporarily unresponsive. In that case we show the result for your own site and say why the competitor could not be read. If your own site cannot be read, we show an assessment based on your goals.
Does the analysis give a price or delivery time?
No. Because we have no verified price list, we do not give figures. The analysis shows the recommended route and the scope level (small, medium, large). The exact cost and schedule are set in a written quote after a conversation.
Are the addresses I enter stored?
The addresses you enter are used only for the comparison, and the result is cached briefly. If you send a quote request, the comparison summary and your form details reach us only so that we can reply to you; they are not shared with third parties. Details are in our privacy and cookie policy.
